A softwall cleanroom is a cleanroom that has walls constructed either of fabric stretched tightly over a frame or of free-hanging strips of fabric. Air content is strictly controlled in this facility. Also, air conditions such as temperature, humidity and pressure are closely monitored and maintained to avoid contamination of the environment. Softwall cleanrooms are one of several types of cleanrooms.
Softwall cleanrooms are lightweight and easy to assemble. They can be designed to meet any class level of cleanrooms. Various sizes and shapes allow customization of the cleanroom for specific requirements, but the typical softwall cleanroom consists of solid flexible shields on all four walls with a 3-foot access strip door. The standard height is 8 feet.
Applications of softwall cleanrooms include in research and development facilities, semiconductor manufacturing, sterile filling/packaging, disk drive manufacturing and testing, medical device production, process pipe fabrication and many more.
